Busy, but excited greetings to all. If you have looked around the church or this website at all you are well aware of two facts. First~ Incredible progress has been made..... and, Second~ We have a lot more to do yet! This website is a major undertaking and is just one of the many exciting things taking place around CBCG as we dive into 2009.
The refurbishment of the basement is well under way. A big thank you to brother Mark Massie and brother Fred Hertzler as well as Dottie and Larry Martin. We look forward to the completion of this project and the beginning of step two which will be a refurbishment of Fellowship Hall.
Speaking of Fellowship Hall....the Barge brothers Ken and Mel came to the rescue when our furnace and pipes froze up during the bitter cold, and Ken fixed the hot water heater while he was at it, installing two new elements.
The electrical work is almost completed thanks to some hard work by pastor Steve Canapp....we can see in the parking lot at night now, and we will not be totally in the dark if we lose power!
Brother Bob Hughes is looking into the sound system repairs that are needed and we look forward to being able to use the church organ again. We have purchased a digital voice recorder which should sync up well with the website and also make the reproduction of quality sermon and lesson cd's much easier. We are also looking into purchasing a church laptop and video projector which will enhance our teaching and presentation capabilities. This will be especially nice when we have missionaries and other guests visiting who have video or power-point presentations to share.
The church website is well under way and I would like to thank my brother Joe Furches for his many hours of hard work to put together an attractive, functional, informative and user friendly site. His willingness to do this has saved the church several thousand dollars.
Church Mailboxes are now up in the vestibule and the nameplates are ordered. We would like to thank Irvin Sensinig (Chris Hertzler's Father) for his fine craftmanship and generous labor of love in providing these mailboxes for the church, as well as numerous other little odd jobs he chose to tackle around the facility.
We still need some men to help us shore up the basement against moisture when the weather gets warmer and we are also planning on addressing the issue of paving the parking lot in the springtime. ...WHEW!!! I get tired just reading about all of this activity. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, to all of you who have been praying, giving and doing around CBCG for the glory of the Lord and the benefit of the body. Above all THANKS BE TO GOD who has provided us with the ability to pray, give and do. May He richly bless us as we continue to serve Him
